However, the extreme Arctic and sub-Arctic climates demand highly stable metallurgical material that can maintain chemical consistency despite drastic external temperature fluctuations during logistics and storage.
The industry currently faces pressure from strict EU and local Norwegian environmental regulations regarding carbon emissions. This has led to a critical demand for high-efficiency carbon raiser products that minimize waste and optimize the reduction process in electric arc furnaces (EAF).
Furthermore, the reliance on imported refractory raw materials, such as high-grade calcined bauxite, remains high. Norwegian plants are increasingly shifting toward materials that offer higher thermal shock resistance to reduce furnace downtime in the harsh Nordic climate.
