Usage
- 1. The loading of molten iron and scrap shall be controlled as normal.
- 2. The ferro-carbon balls shall be added to the converter after the loading of scrap and before starting to blow. The total amount added in bunches shall not be less than 15kg/ton, 2-3kg/to each time according to the temperature and slag melting situation.
- 3. Other bulk materials are recommended to be added as normal.
- 4. During the experiment, it is recommended to track the actual performance and conduct data statistics. The loading time and amount of ferro-carbon balls can be optimized according to the actual condition of the converter.
Advantages
- 1. The end-point temperature of BOF can be increased by about 1.4 degrees by adding 1kg/ton of ferro-carbon balls.
- 2. The consumption of steel material can be reduced by about 1.2kg/ton by adding 1kg/ton of ferro-carbon balls.
- 3. The low content of trace elements in ferro-carbon balls contributes to the production of clean steel.
